Christmas 2012 Opening Hours

December 24 – Club house closed at 4.00pm
December 25 – Club house closed all day
December 26 – Club house closed all day
December 31 – Club house closed at 4.00pm
January 1 – Club house closed all day
January 2 – Club house closed all day

Note: If playing a lot of tennis over the holiday period you may need to top up your fob. As the office and bar will be closed from Friday 21 of Dec this should be done sooner rather than later. Office will be opening again on Jan 3 2013.

2012 Winter Doubles

Dear members,

The 2012 Senior Winter Doubles start this Monday 12th of November.

Please contact your partner/opponents before each match to ensure all turn up on the night.

Finals night (mulled wine and mince pies) Friday Dec 7th (top 4 in group qualify).

Rules: Each match is 17 games. Last game a tie break.

Subs are allowed, but must be cleared by captain. Using a sub limits your score to 8.

Experience indicates that, it is best to contact your partner and opponents before any of your matches to ensure all turn up on the scheduled night.

Ladies and Gentlemen Winter Doubles – 2012

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Please find enclosed details of the first competition of the Winter Season. It’s a round robin type competition, with a different partner each week. There are 17 Games in each match, with the final game a tie break.

You will play 3 to 4 matches in the robin part and the 4 highest scores in each group will play off in a Finals Night. All grades catered for, so please get involved by entering this competition.

Entry fee: €10 (deducted from fob)

DLTC Winter League

Ladies and Gentlemen

The 2013 Winter League is not due to start until end of January 2013; however DLTC closing date for entering the number of teams is November 6th 2012. Therefore in order to get an idea of the number of teams we should enter, we need you to sign up before 6th November.

We have placed an entry list on the notice board in the clubhouse and ask that you would enter your name if you are interested in playing winter league in January 2013.

Seniors Ladder news

Hello folks,

The ladder is back! There are still a couple of days to play the outstanding matches – the new schedule will be published on Mon 1st October.

Please read the News:

1) New rule (time saving for the organiser): if your result box is not filled at the end of the month either with score or walkover, unfortunately I’ll have to automatically remove you from the tournament

2) New doubles ladder: new doubles ladder potentially starting Oct 1st. 2 matches per month.

3) I’ve been getting good feedback for this tournament: nice to hear but if you have any issues please don’t hesitate to let me know. 🙂

4) New suggestion: if you can’t play for only 1 month, give walkovers but stay in the ladder. If you can’t play for longer, please opt out – you’ll get your position back (more or less) when you want to join again.

5) Now it’s the time for you to let me know if you want to drop out of the ladder.

Captains At Home – September 29th 2012

The Captains ‘At Home’ event takes place Saturday 29th of September. This is a semi formal evening and is open to all members & friends. The evening includes a champagne reception, a sit down 4 course meal and a live band until late in the morning!

The captain’s night is the largest social event in our club each year so we hope that you can all come and support
