Seniors Ladder news

Hello folks,

The ladder is back! There are still a couple of days to play the outstanding matches – the new schedule will be published on Mon 1st October.

Please read the News:

1) New rule (time saving for the organiser): if your result box is not filled at the end of the month either with score or walkover, unfortunately I’ll have to automatically remove you from the tournament

2) New doubles ladder: new doubles ladder potentially starting Oct 1st. 2 matches per month.

3) I’ve been getting good feedback for this tournament: nice to hear but if you have any issues please don’t hesitate to let me know. 🙂

4) New suggestion: if you can’t play for only 1 month, give walkovers but stay in the ladder. If you can’t play for longer, please opt out – you’ll get your position back (more or less) when you want to join again.

5) Now it’s the time for you to let me know if you want to drop out of the ladder.

*Coaching ends week commencing 12th November (week commencing Monday 19th for Monday squads due to bank holiday break)

Captains At Home – September 29th 2012

The Captains ‘At Home’ event takes place Saturday 29th of September. This is a semi formal evening and is open to all members & friends. The evening includes a champagne reception, a sit down 4 course meal and a live band until late in the morning!

The captain’s night is the largest social event in our club each year so we hope that you can all come and support

Senior Coaching €100 voucher

To all members,

The new club coaching committee, in tandem with the senior coaching sub- committee, are anxious to deliver a club organised coaching program this year that meets the needs of our members.

The response to the survey last year was extremely poor from our premier, 1st, 2nd & 3rd class DLTC players, this resulted in little or no club organised coaching for these players. We would therefore encourage you to participate in this short survey (it will only take 3 minutes approx).

The survey is structured to ascertain three main objectives:

1. What type of coaching would you like?
2. When during the week would you like it to take place?
3. With what coach would you like to run the coaching session?

While we cannot guarantee that we can deliver to every member on each of these preferences, your answers will help us formulate a program that delivers on as many of them as possible.

It is our intention to commence with the senior coaching program at the beginning of October (after the club championships & DLTC senior leagues are coming to an end).

Please complete the survey by Friday 14th of September. Each respondent will be entered into a draw for a €100 coaching voucher which can be redeemed against any of the club organised senior coaching programs.

Club Championship News

Hi All

The Club Championship is now entering its 3rd week. Many matches have been played in what was good weather up to now. However I hope the change in weather will not affect your determination to play your match on time.

We are now in the process of putting the plate competitions together. This requires all 1st round matches to be complete. However, some of you have not played your 1st match in the main competition, so you are holding up the plate competition draw been made.

We have scheduled what matches we can in the plate so have a look at the notice board in clubhouse or click here to see if you have been scheduled in a plate competition.

If you have any problems with your match, please give us a call.

New Naas LTC Tennis Court Etiquette

Floodlight League

Hi All!

Lots happening in the club just now and here is another competition we hope you will take part in. It is the Floodlight League and some say it’s the best in the DLTC calendar because you do not know if, on any night, you will play singles or doubles. Teams consist of 4 with 2 playing singles and 1 doubles pairing. There is a draw on the night to see who plays singles or doubles.

Do note that matches are played on a Monday night for Men and Tuesday night for ladies. Match times are usually 7.30pm. Competition starts on Monday 1st- Tuesday 2nd October.
