Dear Member
As you all know the club now has three new clay courts. The courts have the latest clay technology, the first tennis club in Ireland to have this facility.
The courts are of such a high standard that we now have Irish International Simon Carr using them in his preparation for his clay court season. He will be practising on them all this week. He is practising in the mornings when the club is quiet.
The funding for these courts was supported by the Sports Capital Programme and we are grateful for the support of local T.D. Bernard Durkan in securing the funding.
Bernard Durkan will officially open the courts on Friday the 25th of January at 7.30pm along with the CEO of Tennis Ireland, Richard Fahey.
The celebration night will include Social Tennis and nibbles. Please come down to the club and enjoy this special evening even if you do not participate in social tennis.
Naas Lawn Tennis Club are very grateful to Bernard Durkan T.D. and Richard Fahey CEO Tennis Ireland, who will also be in attendance, for their help in getting the clay court grant and as we are endeavouring to secure another grant for Padel Tennis Courts, a good turnout will indicate members’ interest in progressing the club.
Please come down and enjoy the occasion.
More details to follow…
